Clarksburg Roofs and the Town Center Guidelines
Homes covered by the Clarksburg Homeowners Association in Clarksburg Town Center may use architectural asphalt shingles (including class 4 impact-resistant ones), natural copper, or painted standing-seam metal, which has raised seams between panels, according to its guidelines revised in December 2020. The guidelines treat a change of roofing material, such as cedar shakes to asphalt shingles, as a color change, so it needs the Architectural Review Committee's approval. Get that approval before work starts.

Under the Clarksburg Homeowners Association's guidelines for Clarksburg Town Center, all existing siding on a house should be replaced at one time, and wood and fiber cement siding may be approved when they cover the whole house. A new color must be the existing approved color or one approved through the color-change process. Expect a whole-house price.
The Clarksburg Homeowners Association's guidelines say all window glass shall be clear and reflective finishes are not permitted. Replacement windows may be solid wood, aluminum clad wood, solid vinyl, solid synthetic, or vinyl clad wood, and must match the existing type, style, and color. Choose clear glass in a matching style.
Panels must be mounted flat on the roof, parallel with the ridge and edges, and may not extend beyond the roof line. In April 2019, the HOA's committee voted to replace the formal solar application with a notification form. See solar panel installation.
